Berlink Pink Tubes - Groundwater Maintenance

Description

Pink tubes running all over Berlin that help the city deal with excessive water and floods. Berlin is built on an area that used to be a swamp, causing the soil to be very wet. Because of continuous developments in the city, this wet soil causes all kinds of issues for foundations and citizen's health.

To deal with this issue, a network of pink tubes has been built all over the city. These pump the excessive water towards from construction sites to the rivers and lakes around the city, where the water is discharged.

The tubes stand out because of their bright pink colour, chosen because it would be liked better by children. The tubes are now iconic and beloved in Berlin.
