Rainwater Problem - Bike Path Aquamarijnstraat Groningen

Description

After harsh rainfall, the bike path at the Aquamarijnstraat near the Vereniging van Amateurtuiniers Vinkhuizen (Association of Amateur Gardeners Vinkhuizen) floods quite often and the water stays on the path for a long time. It seems that the field next to the bike path can not handle a lot of infiltration. A possible solution would be to construct a bioswale on the bare field, solving the rainwater problem. This would also be a chance to introduce more biodiversity to the area.

Na hevige regenval overstroomt het fietspad bij de Aquamarijnstraat in de buurt van de Vereniging van Amateurtuiniers Vinkhuizen nogal vaak en het water blijft lange tijd op het pad staan. Het lijkt erop dat het veld naast het fietspad een lage infiltratiecapaciteit heeft. Een mogelijke oplossing zou zijn om een wadi aan te leggen op het veld, waarmee het regenwaterprobleem kan worden opgelost. Dit zou ook een kans zijn om meer biodiversiteit in het gebied te introduceren.
