This project focuses on enhancing the water flow system of Butuanon Upstream to address the persistent flooding issues that have been affecting the residents of Barangay Bacayan in Cebu, Philippines. The Butuanon River plays a crucial role in the area's drainage system, but over time, inadequate water flow management has led to flooding. By improving the water flow system upstream, the project aims to prevent the overflow of water that often inundates the dwellings of Bacayan's residents.

Additionally, the project involves community engagement and education initiatives to raise awareness about flood preparedness and proper waste disposal practices. By involving the residents in the process, the project seeks to build resilience within the community and create a sustainable solution to the flooding problem. Ultimately, the goal is to create a more resilient and safer environment for the residents of Barangay Bacayan, ensuring that they are better protected from the devastating effects of flooding and improving their overall quality of life.

Dit project richt zich op het verbeteren van het waterafvoersysteem van Butuanon Upstream om de aanhoudende overstromingsproblemen aan te pakken waar de inwoners van Barangay Bacayan in Cebu, Filippijnen, last van hebben. De rivier de Butuanon speelt een cruciale rol in het afwateringssysteem van het gebied, maar in de loop der tijd heeft inadequaat beheer van de watertoevoer geleid tot overstromingen. Door het stroomopwaartse waterstroomsysteem te verbeteren, wil het project voorkomen dat het water overstroomt en vaak de woningen van de bewoners van Bacayan overspoelt.
