Groene Kade & Spoorpark - Spoordok Leeuwarden (nog niet gerealiseerd)

Description

The municipality of Leeuwarden aims to redevelop the almost desolate Spoordok area into a residential and work area that addresses major societal challenges, complements the city, and showcases what Leeuwarden has to offer.

The area vision for the redevelopment of this area is based on six principles. One of these principles is "Connecting city and countryside." The location of the Spoordok area offers opportunities as a connector between the city and the countryside.

The Green Quay (along the Harlingervaart) should become a statement due to the large scale of open, green space.

The Railway Park should make smart use of space by covering a parking hub. From the northern side, people will be able to walk up the park for a beautiful view over Spoordok, Leeuwarden, and the rural area. Additionally, the park will act as a barrier between the railway and Spoordok.

De gemeente Leeuwarden stelt ten doel het haast desolate Spoordok gebied te herontwikkelen tot woon-werkgebied dat antwoorden biedt op grote maatschappelijke opgaven, een aanvulling is voor de stad is en laat zien wat Leeuwarden in huis heeft.

De gebiedsvisie van de herontwikkeling van dit gebied is gebaseerd op zes principes. Eén van deze principes is “Stad en land verbinden”. De locatie van het Spoordok gebied biedt kansen als verbinder tussen stad en land.

De Groene Kade (tegen de Harlingervaart) moet een statement worden door de grote schaal van open, groene ruimte.

Het Spoorpark moet slim gebruik van de ruimte maken, door een een parkeerhub te overdekken. Vanaf de noordzijde zal men het park omhoog kunnen lopen voor een fraai uitzicht over Spoordok, Leeuwarden en het buitengebied. Daarnaast zal het park als barrière tussen het spoor en Spoordok fungeren.
